First Things to Do When It Comes To Website Design

The main objective of any web design is an appealing website that performs a couple of functions for both the visitors and the owners of the site.  Prior to designing of any actual website, especially ones to be posted on the internet, a couple of issues have to be addressed. It is this realization that brings forth the appreciation for website design.

It is necessary to start with a comprehensive research as to what specific market your website will be targeting. It is of great importance that the interest or targeted group finds the site relevant. For instance, a site on bicycles must not give the notion that it is about motorbikes.

In addition to pin pointing the most suitable target market, it is also necessary to ensure that the users visiting the site find it logical and that navigating through the website is a clear and easy task. In case, conflicts between website design and website usability arise, more often than not they should always be settled in favor of website usability.

From the visitors point of view, coming up with a website that is not unusable or poorly designed, clearly means that the objective of the web design has not been achieved. In some cases some of the website that pass the above classification actually take a decade to load or worse still may require the user to download several plug-ins, a prerequisite not appreciated by many users. Research indicates that majority of internet users do not spend time on sites that take ages to load but rather move quickly to other sites.

The above factors should therefore make website entrepreneurs and designers realize the importance of spending ample time researching about the website requirements and exploitable markets in order to produce site with high usability. Plain colors are more suitable for backgrounds, for instance white background with black text works well. As for backgrounds with design go for designs that are subtle.

Text should always be in a printable color, unfortunately lots of designers and entrepreneurs do not put this to consideration leading to failure in the initial web design. The above factor makes black text more preferred but so long as the color used does not result in the user experiencing headaches as a result of straining the eyes is acceptable.

A website's usability and user friendliness are some of the goals to attain when designing a website. Prior planning is necessary not just for market research but also for the attainment of the above attributes. Therefore, appreciating the what-to-do first factors of web design involves the owner or designer taking ample time in planning prior to the design process.
